Dear Colleagues, friends,
First and most off all I hope you are safe and healthy.
Despite COVID-19 we all are taking care of our patients and I am not an exception.
I am orthopedic surgeon with over 25 years of experience and my specialty is Adult Reconstruction and Orthopaedic Trauma Surgery. My office is at 2300 Sutter Street, Suite 207, San Francisco.
When non-surgical treatment modalities have been tried and failed, we offer to our patients who are in pain – (Primary) Joint Arthroplasty.
Every year close to 1 million Hip and Knee Joint Replacements are performed in this country. The results of these surgeries, both short, middle and even long term are excellent. For most of orthopedic surgeons this is the last surgical procedure they perform. Unfortunately, about 10% of the patients who underwent primary hip and knee replacements will face a situation when their implants either do not provide expected outcome or fail for variety of reasons. Lately I find myself operating more and more on these challenging and complex patients. They are referred to me since higher level of expertise is needed.
I am reaching to you and your patients offering my service and my expertise.
Of course, in my practice I am taking care of all kind of patients who suffer from bone and joint pain, those who suffer from arthritis and sustained injuries and need both surgical and nonsurgical care.
I was one of the first surgeons in this nation to do Direct Anterior Approach Hip Replacement surgeries. This is a minimally invasive procedure that allows my patients a fast recovery and helps them to return to a more active and pain-free lifestyle.
What is unique in my practice is that we also take care of patients with complex conditions: failed joint replacement of unfortunate sequalae of the fracture.
As to my education and background:
I completed my residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Western Ontario, London, Ontario, Canada and I did my post-graduate training as an orthopaedic Fellow in Adult Reconstructive and Orthopaedic Trauma at the University of Toronto, in Canada. Prior to moving to San Francisco, I was full-time Faculty at the Keck School of Medicine, University of Southern California, in Los Angeles, and was involved in the cutting-edge research and technology at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) in Pasadena.
I am fellowship trained in orthopedic reconstruction (joint replacement) and orthopedic trauma and I am proud to be Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery in US and in Canada. I am member of American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Fellow of American College of Surgery (FACS), Fellow of Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC), California and Canadian Orthopaedic Associations and other international and national professional organizations.
You can always call me directly and I always will be available to you and your patients.
It is a privilege to be affiliated with some of the main medical centers in San Francisco – Bay Area, and to look after our mutual patients.
Please stay healthy and safe.
Yours truly,
Nik
